 Decree

Probably one the heaviest tracks we’ve posted so far. This tune is relentless! Imagine Borgore and Funtcase trying to out-filth eachother, both using babies and knifes! It’s like our most perfect nightmare! Don’t sleep on the second drop! We suggest you go check this geezer out! Lots more filth coming from him and it sounds big!

Bio:
Decree or more formally known as Dylan Marcus is a Dubstep producer hailing from New York City. Initially inspired and started in the realm of Drum n’ Bass at a very young age, Dylan got signed as Vicious D to various labels at the tender age of 14. Having some digital releases as well as a vinyl release at this age he quickly ditched the name Vicious D (after being called V.D. in short) and launched Flight Recordings, being distracted with label work from ages 15 to 18 he eventually got time to start production again as Decree and instantly fell in love with Dubstep. It has now been just under a year and Decree has been shedding light in the Dubstep realm with many tracks, collaborations and remixes including an upcoming remix of Scorned by Rawthang among many others.

Decree’s Dubstep is greatly influenced by the love and passion he has for sounds. This all started when he was 11 and has spent countless hours for years just playing and creating sounds and textures on many synths and audio programs. Some of his tracks show this passion by using ‘Non-musical musical theory’ to portray that songs can be lacking greatly in many elements that are considered fundamental to music yet by using complex automations and patterns your brain can create intriguing and evolving ghost melodies. Dubstep is a great genre to perform such techniques since it is based around intense sounds that the scene gratifies toward.

Decree currently has 3 releases forthcoming with BassPunch Records, Savory Audio and Stupid Fly Records. Watch out for more forthcoming releases as well as several blogs reporting on the latest Decree tracks.

Chris, there are always going to be tunes of all sorts within most electronic genres. This clearly fills the requirements of a dubstep track (Focus on sub bass, approx 140bpm), and just because it’s not the same as the dubstep you like doesn’t mean its place in the dubstep scene is any less valid. There’s similar sort of stuff in Drum & Bass (Current Value, Limewax etc) which I personally hate but it’s just a matter of personal taste.

Mike, yeah but there should be sub-genres in dubstep then like filthstep for the madshit. Like dnb has loads of seperate genres like jump up n liquid n so on.
Im not sayin make a whole new genre.

Damn, this is a nasty one! But i have to admit, its not my peace of cake. In my opinion, à dubstep track has to be ‘skankable’ and you have to be able to listen the entire tune without getting internal bleedings, eardamage or just bored.
What i hate about dubstep nowadays is that everyone always compares filthy tunes to all sorts of injuries. And what i am finding quite anoying in this tune is the massive shreeking trebble wave blasting out my eardrums. Its just my opinion though, and i know that most people will think that thats bullshit.

Dont get me wrong though, tune is nice, only à bit too much in my ears.
    Sorry.
