Way, way, way back on 5th November 2009, we featured a gentleman called Druley from Encino, CA, USA. We didn’t know much back then, we didn’t know him or what he was going to be like. Well, fuck me, a few years down the line and he’s still going strong, he’s still got a filthy backbone and he still gives us chills.

His remix of “Lights Over Paris (feat. Game) – I’m Not A Gangsta” is about as big and hairy as it get’s. I stumbled upon this beauty on my way through the mountains of requests and emails i have sitting in my inbox, and im fucking glad i did. Druley has put a spin on it so filthy that it’s made Squitty HQ smell like a sweaty raver after a weekend of class A’s and Bass.

I don’t have much to go on by way of Bio from Druley. But, we don’t need to inform you of these things, that can be your job. Go out and seek information on him, it will be worth it. But for now, enjoy this free filth.

Halo Nova, known to his mates as, Nick Pittsinger. This 21 year old electronic music producer is from Tampa, Florida, USA.

Well, what can i say about Halo Nova. Basically, when i first saw him i thought he was going to be a flash in the pan type of DJ, however, this young talent has proved to be a “Breath of fresh Filth”. Im more than happy to announce a brand new release on Ultragore Recordings – UGR022, if you have the balls to go out and buy INSECT WARFARE | UGR022 before mummy and daddy realise that all your pocket moneys have been going on illicit filth.

A little bit about Halo Nova:

“Nick has been surrounded by music since he was a child, being raised on jazz, metal and video game music. At the age of 14 he took up playing piano seriously and started learning music theory with a concentration in jazz. It was only at age 18 that Nick started to produce music, starting off with ambient music and eventually winding up at dubstep. He also composes soundtracks to video games and films as his main passion.

Not even a year into existence, Halo Nova has gained an immense amount of noteriety. His debut EP reached #34 in the Beatport dubstep charts and let the world know how serious he was. So far in 2011 alone, he has done an EP for Ultragore, Betamorph, and Abducted Records. He has also done singles for Play Me, Dub Cartel, and Filthy Digital Recordings. His music is played out by the likes of Skrillex, Nero, Propa Tingz, Dirty Talk, Antiserum, Helicopter Showdown and more.

The future of Halo Nova looks beyond promising, always trying something new and fresh every song. He is also constantly surprising his fans with viral smash hits like his “Dubstep Orchestral Suite” series and free bangers. “I want to bring melody and musicality back to popular electronic music, I want to bring emotion and most of all I want to bring energy!”

Entering the dubstep world only a year and a half ago, 18 year old Nathan Fields a.k.a. Nato Feelz instantly put his musical skills toward this bass heavy genre. Hailing from Portland Oregon, Nato began producing September 2010, and after four months signed with Phantom Hertz Recordings for the release of his fourth track “Do This.” Since he began creating his own floor stomping tracks, he has evolved the melodic and rhythm elements from his drum and guitar shredding abilities into a unique electronic sound. This multigenre bass head is sure to continue pumping more and more hard hitting tracks out of the studio and into the eardrums of EDM lovers world wide. Delivering mass amounts of bass from behind the decks, Nato Feelz is definitely one to watch out for!

I have what i can only describe as a golden goose for you here. A rather talented gentleman by the name of PropaTingz is a U.K. born Dj with an array of talents. His sounds have been around for sometime now so i’m probably telling you things that you already know, but I don’t care. His music and production values make me smile, and not just an “I really like this” smile, I mean a full on “I need to melt this down and inject this into my brain” smile. His field of expertise is not so much Filth, but, what I want to describe as Glitchy Filth Step. By this i mean, he produces absolutely filthy sounds, but they don’t fall into the general Filth section of my brain. They now have their own section and place in my heart.

PropaTingz has the perfect transitionary sound in my view, something that easily crosses the boundaries of the underground and gives mainstream a kick in the teeth. He has played all over and has taken the American world of Dubstep by storm. I want to go on about him but i think ill let this bio fill you in on all the areas which i missed:

PropaTingz; a name synonymous with the thunderous, uncompromising sound of now known as dubstep. The man in question, Anthony Traynor, is responsible for some of the biggest dance floor bangers in the scene. Heralded as “Man of the Moment” (Fat Drop UK) he has numerous top 10 releases on dubstep’s biggest labels (BOKA, Z Audio, Black Acre, Fabric) and has emerged as one of the hottest names on the international DJ circuit. His cutting edge style has been in great demand for remix and collaboration projects for scene powerhouse producers such as 16 bit, Bassnectar and Breaks legend Freq Nasty with major support coming from N-type, Glitch Mob, Akira Kiteshi, Radio 1 DJ Kissy Sell Out amongst others. Not only a dubstep don, his previous incarnation as “BreakBeatBuddha” helped forge the now lauded California Glitch Hop scene alongside such artists as Edit and Lazer Sword. As PropaTingz he has made a triumphant return to his to his UK underground roots but to see how he got here lets rewind and take it from the edge.

The PropaTingz sound was born in the violent and depressed surroundings of late 80s inner city UK and forged in the fire of the Drum and Bass moshpit. That raw and aggressive sound left an indelible mark on the ambitious angst ridden youth that would last as he embarked on a journey that took him around the globe. After becoming disenchanted with both the UK music scene (after the governments clamping down on illegal raves in the form of the Criminal Justice Bill) and society he left for America and dove headlong into meditation study. During this period he discovered the burgeoning West Coast Burning Man scene. It was was in the dust and the heat of the playa that BreakBeatBuddha was born.

In 2007 and 2008 the releases “Mind Bombin” and “The New Resistance” took the west coast scene by storm and established him as a permanent fixture on the circuit. 2009 saw the first PropaTingz releases, the first of which, “Peacemaker”, made it on to the seminal Fabric Live mix CD, mixed by Freq Nasty. “Babylons Scared ft Dakini” (Audio Freaks) followed close behind with the mighty 16 bit on remix duties, described by Boomkat as “a technological murder weapon”; In 2010 the pace quickened as Propa took turns on the remix duties remixing 16 bits slaughter house dubstep anthem “Chainsaw Calligraphy” (BOKA). His crunk step take on the original, described by ST Holdings as “devastating, pure and simple” earned him accolades and established him as a major player in genre.“PoorManStyle/Wickedest Sound” (Of Road/Black acre) found its way to Kissy Sell Outs “Young Blood” feature on BBC Radio 1 and was an instant dubstep rave smash. “Hustle Hard/Stay Alive” (Bad Acid/Black Acre) saw Propa return to his UK grime roots and was described by the listening booth as “a leviathan of block rocking bass science…”

The Future; look forward to a slew of remixes in the pipeline, an EP and World Tour…..the word on the street is that there is a live project in the mix too….. Big Tingz Indeed!

Now, you and I are one with the Talented Mr. Anthony Traynor, and i hope you feel a bit wiser for the read. With that said, do what all loyal Dubstep enthusiasts do and go out and collect the productions that PropaTingz has released, put them in mixes, play them to mum and gran, play them loud and tell everyone you know that this is the Dogs Bollocks.

The free track we have is not a recent track, nor is it a filthy dubstep track (a first for us), but PropaTingz is real busy right now, and I’m not going to pester him, so i have chosen a free track he has given out in the past as a little introduction to those of you who haven’t already had your ear canals penetrated with his syrupy goodness. The track is called Hustlers Concerto, and is a perfect example of his Glitch Hop skills. Listen to the elements contained within each production and you’ll soon come to see why I’m so fucking exited about this artist. His future productions will be as big and hairy as a wild gorilla in a banana milkshake drinking competition, keep your eyes peeled for this one. Check out the Video included

After chatting with Oblivion from USA we had to upload the tunes and previews to our file sharing, find and edit a photo to feature, edit down the interview, write this up and wait to press the Publish button! We agreed with Oblivion that once his Soundcloud Page had hit 500 Followers that we would publish this post an exclusive free download of Oblivion remix of Vaski – Jelly! FOR THOSE WHO MIGHT NOT BE FAMILIAR WITH YOUR SOUND/STYLE. HOW WOULD YOU DESCRIBE IT:
I guess my sound could be described as heavey basslines a real electro style to it, I do try to keep things different as each tune gets done, I am also working on a tune that is super chill and deep.
I am also recently working on a new tune that is chill and deep, with a lot of sub bass.

HOW DID YOU GET INTO DUBSTEP, AND WHAT MADE YOU WANT TO PRODUCE:
Awesome question, In 2008, I was booked to play at this campout like 2 hours south of Mpls, funny story this is the same exact way Alex Vaski got into dubstep as well, we were both there walking around from stage to stage, and seemed to keep ourselves at the Uncensored US stage.
our 2 friends KJ, and Dan Hack were playing dubstep and we heard the track Gangster by Babylon System & SPL, after that we both pretty much just fell in love with the genre, before we left we were also handed a dubstep mix by a DJ named Tinhead, and listened to that the whole way home.

After a few months I started buying tunes and playing them out, and moved from being a UK Hardcore DJ to a Dubstep DJ, at times I wanted to do both, but I kept only being booked for dubstep, in 2010 Alex (Vaski) and I started a collab called Party Foul, and that pretty much started me with producing my own dubstep, as of today I have been producing for about 9 Months.

WHATS YOUR CURRENT PRODUCTION SET UP:
FL Studio 9, a computer, and some crappy Philips brand speakers from a cd changer stereo, I also have a 12 inch sub that helps alot, yea its not much but it works for what I am pushing out now, soon I hope to get a nice midi keyboard, and some new monitors.

HOW DO YOU FEEL THE SCENE IS GOING, IS THERE ANYTHING MISSING, HOW WOULD YOU CHANGE IT:
Dubstep its self has really pushed itself into everything, there are producers like Rusko, Chase & Status producing for big acts like Rihanna, and Brittany Spears, at my age we remember Britney with pop music singing oops I did it again, and now she has a tune with a dubstep breakdown.

So really I think the scene is doing just great, people maybe mad that its going mainstream, but when it wasn’t I remember when people talked about wanting to make dubstep big, now it is, get used to it haha.

My thoughts on what is missing, nothing really anymore at a time when dubstep first blew up, that’s all that people wanted to hear, they would go to a rave just to hear it, I love all sorts of electronic music, and I love to keep seeing parties with all styles instead of just dubstep, and that’s would also I would change, to keep it fresh and keep peoples minds open, so usually in a set of mine you’ll never hear just a full hour of dubstep, you’ll hear some dutch house, dnb, hardcore, what ever i feel the crowd at the time will like.

New EP releasing on Betamorph Recordings, no really set date yet, but will have some really sweet tunes, like Bomberman Fights Back, and Forcefeild, also a remix in the works by Cyberoptics, my ep will have a couple more tunes, but really don’t have any names for them yet.

Michael Myers and Andrew McKay are Prime. A sick Dubstep duo from Los Angeles, United States. They sent over this track as a little taster for us to see if we liked their sound enough, and lucky for them we fucking loved it. We don’t have an awful lot to go on with these guys, but who gives a crap, its all about the track and how it makes you feel, right?

LA, has given light to a few talents we have featured on Squitty and we are never disappointed with the quality they display. So given that we have given you very little info to go on about these guys, it is your duty as a follower of the noise to go out and see what else they have to offer the beautiful world in which we reside.
